How Marples helps improve your Star Ratings

Marples is software from Carelytics for health plan care teams. It finds each member's open care gaps using NCQA HEDIS standards, ranks the members to reach first, and reaches them by secure text in their preferred language. Your care management team reviews any message with clinical details before it goes out.

Clinical care gaps

Close the HEDIS gaps that count

Marples is built on NCQA HEDIS MY 2026 specifications, the care that counts toward the 2028 Star Ratings. It lists each member's open gaps so your team can close them before December 31.

Examples: Breast cancer screening (C01), Colorectal cancer screening (C02), Diabetes eye exam (C11), Kidney health for diabetes (C13), Controlling blood pressure (C14)

HEDIS measures are about one third of the Part C rating weight in 2027. Calculated

Drug adherence

Keep members on their medicines

Members can request a prescription refill by text, with no phone call needed. That helps on the three drug adherence measures, which count three times as much as most process measures.

Examples: Adherence for diabetes medicines (D08), blood pressure medicines (D09) and statins (D10), each ×3

Focus

Work the members who move the rating

Marples ranks members by how much each measure counts and how close the plan is to the next cut point. Outreach goes where the stars are, not to everyone with a gap.

Use it with this page: pick your contract to see which measures sit just below the next star.

Member experience

Help members get answers

Members get answers to benefit questions by secure text, in their preferred language. Getting information and help is part of what member surveys ask about.

Examples: Getting needed care (C21), Customer service (C23), Rating of health plan (C25), Getting needed prescription drugs (D06)

Member surveys are about 39% of the Part C rating weight in 2027. Calculated

Members leaving

Address the reasons members give

CMS asks members why they left. Two of the reasons it tracks are problems getting information and help, and problems getting drugs. Marples helps with both through benefit answers and refill requests by text. It does not predict which members will leave.

Measures: Members choosing to leave the plan (C28, D03)

Control and fit

Your team stays in charge

Your care management team reviews any message with clinical details and decides what to send. Health details open only through a secure link with a verification code. Marples can run in your own AWS, Azure or Google Cloud account, or connect to the care management app your team already uses.

Start with a six-week pilot. Share member, clinical, claims and pharmacy data, and get a ranked list of members to focus on.
